SECOND ATTEMPT
—“I really appreciated, looking back on our collaboration, how richly you equipped me with so much more than just a thesis write-up. Like when you suggest edits in the text, but always comment on the ‘why’. That way, over time, not only did I start to feel the confidence to do it myself with new texts I had to write in the last week before the deadline - I also feel more confident now when I must write a report at work, or even an email. Or like when you briefed me on how to best approach my teachers at university: Monday morning - not Friday end of the day, giving him simply 2 options so he can swifly respond in between being busy. It had the effect we wanted, and I take many of these gems into my work now as a professional manager in my company”.

No mistake, no learning.
The word "FAIL" is sometimes used as an acronym to stand for "First Attempt In Learning." Failure is a natural and valuable part of the learning process, where mistakes are opportunities for growth and improvement.
Having said that, it is also true that a LOT depends on it now for you, and you’re under a tight deadline and the emotions and stress that come with that.

Perhaps the most helpful aspect of this trajectory with Tikvah, was how she made sense for me out of the immense amount of input I received from my institution of what was expected of me and of the end product - in the thesis guidelines, separate documents, workshops, the oral feedback over time from teachers and commissions on my failed product etc. It was a mess for me, I had no idea where to start even. Tikvah ensured I was crystal clear on what my institute would grade me on, and in case of doubt we cross checked with my teacher at the institute. Her way of constantly bringing it all together in 1 place only, was absolute gold for me. In the end, I received a green light, and I couldn’t feel more relieved, as now I can complete my 4 years degree and am a certified professional. In the same situation, with so much depending on it, I would have made the same investment to graduate – or even more, whatever was needed. This was a most pleasant collaboration.”

TESTIMONIALS
“A lot depended on this for me, since I failed my submitted thesis that had received a heavy insufficient grade. I realised the scale of the problem I had – so much needed to happen in a brief period of time until the new deadline, and the price of the thesis supervision by Tikvah was worth it for me completely, as it made perfect sense. For every hour I bought, I got so much value: this goes over and beyond thesis support you usually get out there, it goes from structure in the text, to how to plan my time optimally, and from content dialogues to laughter and more.Perhaps the most helpful aspect of this trajectory with Tikvah, was how she made sense for me out of the immense amount of input I received from my institution of what was expected of me and of the end product - in the thesis guidelines, separate documents, workshops, the oral feedback over time from teachers and commissions on my failed product etc. It was a mess for me, I had no idea where to start even. “I give the thesis
advise and coaching by Tikvah a 10 out of 10. The fact that I failed* my second
attempt eventually, doesn’t deminish any of that score. I have always
experienced it as very positive. Very useful. Yes, that, very useful.
Qualitative. Tikvah was really well versed with the content, sometimes I felt
she knew it better even than myself. The trajectory was really motivating,
Tikvah always encouraged me that it was doable, that things were going well.
Without this support I would have thrown the towl in the ring a long time ago,
I would have quit in defeat, I would definitely not have come this far.”

*The student arrived with already a failed thesis and a very tight deadline. We can never give guarantee a student will make it through the submission, above anything else because it remains their own thesis, with their own level of ability, choices, time investment and motivation. We coach the best we can. It is always good to hear a student felt supported throughout regardless of the outcome.
